Shuanggui Hall is the most important Chan Buddhist monastery in Chongqing and one of the most significant in Southwest China, founded in 1652 during the Qing Dynasty by the renowned Chan master Po Shan. The sprawling temple complex covers over 7 hectares and features magnificent traditional architecture with ornate halls, prayer pavilions, pagodas, and beautifully landscaped gardens. The temple is named for the two ancient osmanthus (桂花) trees that still flourish in its front courtyard, filling the air with their sweet perfume during autumn.

Huashi Ancient Stockade is a dramatic hilltop fortress built on a massive, smooth-surfaced limestone outcrop that rises abruptly from the surrounding plain. The stockade was constructed during the Ming Dynasty as a defensive stronghold against bandits and invading armies, and its strategic location made it virtually impregnable. The approach involves climbing a steep stone staircase carved directly into the cliff face, passing through a series of fortified gates. At the summit, well-preserved stone walls, watchtowers, and the foundations of ancient buildings remain intact.
The summit offers spectacular 360-degree panoramic views of the Liangping Plain, the Bamboo Sea, and distant mountain ranges.
