Yongchuan 永川区 — Tea, Bamboo & Dinosaur Fossils
Yongchuan is known for its vast tea plantations, bamboo forests, and — surprisingly — dinosaur fossils. The district combines agricultural beauty with prehistoric discoveries.
The Chashan (Tea Mountain) bamboo sea stretches across thousands of hectares, creating a mesmerizing green landscape. The area is famous across China as the filming location for several wuxia (martial arts) films and TV series.
Yongchuan's dinosaur fossil site has yielded important specimens including a newly discovered species, adding scientific significance to its natural attractions.
A vast bamboo forest covering over 5,000 hectares, reaching elevations of 1,025 meters. The bamboo "sea" creates a surreal green landscape straight out of a martial arts film — literally, as scenes from "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" were filmed here. Walking through the bamboo groves is cool and peaceful even in summer.
