Wenshan 文山 — Karst Wonderland — Hidden Paradise
Wenshan (文山) prefecture contains Puzhehei (普者黑), one of southern China's most stunning karst landscapes — limestone peaks rising from turquoise lakes and lotus ponds. The area became famous after appearing in the TV drama "Eternal Love."
Bamei Village is a hidden valley accessible only by boat through a cave, earning it the nickname "Shangri-La." Wenshan is also China's largest producer of Sanqi (三七), a medicinal herb used in traditional Chinese medicine.
Wenshan is 340 km from Kunming. Allow 2-3 days for Puzhehei.
