Lijiang Lijiang — UNESCO Ancient City - Gateway to Shangri-La

Lijiang (丽江) is one of China's most beautiful ancient towns, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Yunnan Province.

The town sits at 2,400 meters elevation at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (5,596m). The backdrop makes Lijiang photogenic.

Lijiang is also a cultural crossroads — the Naxi people have their own language and the world's only living pictographic script (Dongba).
