Xiangxi 湘西 — Miao & Tujia Homeland — Fenghuang Gateway
Xiangxi (湘西) is a Miao and Tujia autonomous prefecture in western Hunan. The region inspired Shen Congwen's literary masterpieces. Beyond Fenghuang Ancient Town, Xiangxi offers remote Miao villages, ancient fortresses, and dramatic canyon scenery.
