Pengshui is one of Chongqing's most ethnically distinct districts, with the Miao people making up a significant portion of the population. The county's Miao traditions are among the best-preserved in Chongqing.

Pengshui's Aishan (阿依河) gorge is one of the region's most popular adventure tourism destinations, offering rafting and canyoning.
A spectacular river gorge offering bamboo rafting, canyoning, and swimming in crystal-clear mountain water. The gorge stretches 36 km with waterfalls, pools, and dramatic cliff walls. The bamboo raft experience through the calmer sections is perfect for families, while the rapids sections offer adventure for thrill-seekers.

A reconstructed Miao cultural center featuring traditional architecture, craft workshops, and cultural performances. The complex includes a massive Miao-style gate, stilted buildings, and a museum of Miao culture. Traditional Miao silver jewelry, embroidery, and batik are demonstrated and sold by local artisans.
